Kwaito star court case drags on with more postponements

The case court of Sipho "Brickz" Ndlovu continues to drag on after another postponement at the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court.

Kwaito musician Sipho “Brickz” Nldovu will have to wait until 20 October to know his fate after his court case was postponed during a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 18 September.

Ndlovu and his attourney will hear from the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) whether or not they will proceed with the rape charge against him.

The star’s lawyer, Dumisane Mabunda, previously said the case against his client was weak and filled with holes.

“We spoke to the chief prosecutor and she is going escalate it to the NDPP,” Mabunda informed.

The Sweety My Baby hitmaker is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at his home in Honeydew in March 2013, although the matter was only reported in October.

Ndlovu was released on R50 000 bail in December when his lawyer at the time took the matter to the High Court, after unsuccessful attempts at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court.
