City Power responds about widespread outages
JOBURG – City Power speaks after electricity and water are restored.
City Power has responded about the outages that left many northern suburbs without water and electricity between 15 and 17 September see previous article.
“City Power has on the morning of the 17th September reconfigured the infrastructure supplying these areas in order to deal with the increased load and it has since been able to supply power without interruptions,” said the utility’s spokesperson Sol Masolo. “A distributor in Ruimsig supplying some of the Roodepoort suburbs tripped and affected water supply in those areas. The same distributor has been restored.”
Masolo confirmed that the following areas were without electricity:
– Boundary Park
– Bromhof
– Bryanston
– Johannesburg North
– Jukskei Park
– Hoogland
– North Riding
– Olivedale
– Sharonlea
– Sonneglans
– Strijdom Park
– Vandie Grove
– Weadowhurst
