Boxing champs visit Witpoortjie
Both sportsmen started their boxing carees at Witpoortjie Amateur Boxing Club.
The Witpoortjie Amateur Boxing Club recently was graced by Hekker Budler and Johny Muller, two prominent names in the boxing world.
Budler is a current world strawweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO).
Muller is the current World Boxing Council silver belt champion as well as the South African light heavyweight champion.
Both Budler and Muller started their boxing careers at Witpoortjie Amateur Boxing Club.
“Our students were overjoyed to see such big personalities join them,” says head coach and chairperson of the club, Phillip Randt.
“They gave motivating speeches and advise to the students about the boxing world.
“It was moving to see how eagerly our students were waiting for their boxing gloves to be signed by the two fighters.”
It is spelled Hekkie Budler.
