Women arrested for drug possession

The Johannesburg Flying Squad was patrolling Florida last Wednesday (10 September) during special operations when they spotted a VW Golf at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Maud Street.

The police approached the occupants – two males and a female – and spoke to them, after which they searched them. In the female’s handbag they found a small plastic bag containing dagga as well as a matchbox containing a white substance believed to be a drug.

The woman was arrested and detained at Florida Police Station on charges of possession of drugs and dagga. She will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
