Maragon Private Schools are gearing up to add pupils with the opening of Maragon Avianto Pre-Primary School.
On 7 September, Avianto held its official open day to excited toddlers and parents who let loose, discovering the new classrooms.
Curriculum designer Lynda Eagle says it is essential to provide a fresh and modern approach to education and learning to keep up with the fast-paced world.
“Our focus remains on the well-being, happiness and successful development of our children. This, in turn, will ensure a sustainable future and environment in which each child will have the confidence and skills to pursue their dreams and aspirations.”
Avianto would adopt an emergent curriculum that ensures the material learned is creative, relevant and dynamic. The school is looking forward to building a learning environment that empowers individuals from an early age and encourages exploration and discovery that instils a love for learning that is sustainable.
School principal Monica de Beer says their goal is to develop self-reliant members of society who can problem solve and think critically.
“Children need to be given the opportunity to awaken a lifelong love of learning and to build them a sense of community. We would like to develop their creativity and potential to explore, discover and to entrust within them the curatorship of our environment, to help them develop a respect for others and nature, and to celebrate their individuality and unique talents.”
The success of the schools ensures that Avianto is all set to welcome the first group of pupils during the 2015 academic year.
