Bank pensioners gather in Radiokop

Smart financial decision-making, travelling and socialising were on the agenda at the recent Fips meeting.

The Financial Institutions Pensioners’ Society (Fips) met in Radiokop yesterday (28 August) to discuss finances and travelling.

“This is our biggest turnout so far and I’m very proud as we can move forward together,” said Manna Fourie during his opening speech.

“This society is here to address the issues that we as bank pensioners face, and I encourage everyone to make suggestions as to what topics are of concern.”

It was suggested that a following meeting address home ownership and investment as retired individuals. During the meeting John Brandow of Fouriesburg Tours also gave a presentation on pensioner-specific holidays, safaris and cruises. These packages cater for pensioners’ income and the possibility of taking another family member along on vacation.

After the meeting members socialised and were served snacks, coffee and tea.

The next Fips meeting will take place on Thursday 27 November at the Family Church at 7 Erasmus Road, Radiokop. For more information contact Alice Ball on 011 791 4827 or 083 253 7278 or via email at balletjies@telkomsa.net.
