Lauren performs abroad

Lauren Blight is a fun, loving and talented 14-year-old singer and actress from Wilgeheuwel.

As part of a selective group of talented youth Lauren represented the country on an international stage at the Actors, Models and Talent for Christ (AMTC) Convention in Florida in the USA in July. Started in 1982, AMTC’s Shine Conference is a biannual talent convention held in Orlando, Florida.

Shine is attended by actors, models, singers, dancers and comedians from all over the world.

AMTC provides these young people with an opportunity to pursue an international career. It is the place where connections are made.

Lauren, who started singing at a very young age, has been given the opportunity to spread her wings and she is proud to have had the opportunity to represent her community and country among the best of the best.

Lauren took part in six showcases and received callbacks from casting agents and attended various flash interviews at the AMTC Summer Shine Convention.

She will be participating in the National South African Talent Championships (Satch) in October. Her participation at AMTC automatically qualified her to take part at Satch Nationals for solo vocals and acting. She also qualified for vocal duets during the provincial rounds of Satch earlier this year.
