Maragon girls hockey team claims top spot at Prestige Tournament

RUIMSIG – Maragon Private Schools girls hockey team impresses at the annual Prestige Hockey Tounament.

Maragon Private Schools’ female hockey team claimed top prize at this year’s annual Prestige Hockey Tournament, hosted by Hoërskool Noordheuwel.

The girls beat Hoërskool Bekker 1 – 0 on the first day and thrashed Krugersdorp High School and Hoërskool Fochville 3 – 0 and 4 – 0 respectively.

Ultimately, the first team played out to a goalless draw, sharing the trophy with Krugersdorp.

More than five schools participated in the last leg of the Prestige Hockey Tournament – setting an impressive tone for the next season of female hockey.

Marc Richardson – a Grade 10 tutor at Maragon wishes to congratulate the staff and coaches for their achievement.

“This was a stunning achievement from our school and for the young side at Maragon,” says Richardson.
