A resident shared a warning on facebook to Witpoortjie residents on Wednesday (13 August) regarding gates being tampered with in the area.
“Please be on the lookout for criminals as they are busy targeting households in the area,” he wrote.
The man attached CCTV camera footage of a suspect tampering with the gate at his house in Gerrit Maritz Street. The footage dates to Saturday 9 August.
He later stated to the record that his house was broken into just a few months ago.
The resident thanked the Western Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch patrollers in his post for making him aware of the incident.
