Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the corner of Buhrmann Street and Mouton Road in Horison, Roodepoort this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a motor vehicle and minibus had collided head-on. Twelve people were injured during the accident, of which two were found to be in a critical condition.
All the injured patients were treated on the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.

We see this every morning! Taxis using Mouton Road have no regard for other vehicles and or commuters on the road. They NEVER stop at the four-way intersection at De Wet Road either, just merely slip over. There are children on that road and in 12 years I have seen many accidents – MOSTLY caused by taxis, and mostly during peak hours. Just as they skip the robot when turning left out of Ontdekkers Road into Mouton. They do not stop at the traffic light, if they do not see any traffic from the right, they just go. But alas, we know that Joburg Metro will do nothing to enforce traffic rules on this stretch of road.
