A woman of Embumnandini was having family and friends over last Saturday (26 July), when three men suddenly entered her house at approximately 9pm.
One man returned outside to stand guard while another drew a firearm and a panga. Suspiciously the men only concentrated on the complainant’s daughter. When they forced her to take her clothes off she had a money belt around her body with a substantial amount of cash in it. The men sped off in a blue Volkswagen Jetta but was arrested by Roodepoort Police shortly afterwards.
During interrogation it came out that the men were sent by someone who resides with the complainant.
The three men, aged between 23 and 26, appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on charges of armed robbery.
