57 arrested during special operation

A special operation last Friday (25 July) yielded great success according to Roodepoort Police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo.

The operation started at 2pm and saw police officers doing stop-and-search routines as well as holding several roadblocks all over the Roodepoort precinct.

A total of 57 arrests were made and a stolen vehicle was discovered during the operation. Five shebeens also have been closed down.

The arrested suspects were charged and detained at Roodepoort Police Station and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
