New On Florida committee ready for action

"A concerted effort will be made to involve members of the community in large numbers."

The new executive committee of the On Florida Voluntary Association was elected at a meeting at Westview Clinic recently.

Their aims as an association are to register the Association with the relevant department/s, to ensure the portfolios are driven by passionate and dedicated members, to put a short-term plan of action in place, to liaise with stakeholders, to keep the community well informed of positive and negative developments and to play the role of watchdog for Florida.

“At this point there are serious concerns about the escalating drug issues in the community, the maintenance of our parks and recreational facilities, the gradual deterioration of our roads and Florida CBD, and the high level of criminal activities in our area,” says founder, Caleb Finn.

“On Florida aims to extend its public relations arm and intensify its marketing drive.”

Finn welcomes more community participation and more funds to tackle burning issues, he says.

“A concerted effort will be made to involve members of the community in large numbers in our public meetings and ongoing intervention of the On Florida initiative.”
