A man was shot and killed on Ontdekkers Road in De La Rey, last night.
ER24 paramedics were heading back to base when they were pulled over by SAPS to assist them in an incident.
When paramedics assessed the scene, they found a man lying lifeless on the side of the road against the barriers.
The man had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

It is so sad when people are murdered, but I have to say that the area where the man got shot: De La Rey is one of the biggest drug spots in the whole area being run by a drug pusher going by the name of Gift who operates from the De La Rey Hotel and the surrounding flats. I know nobody can say what had happened but my gut tells me that looking at the area and the nature of the crime surely it is a drug deal gone bad? I must also state that the Sophiatown Police station is more than aware of the drug trading going on there but does nothing about it! Alledgedly nobody knows who ‘Gift’ is but I am aware of people buying drugs from him, friends of my husband being a rehabilitating drug abuser. Girt is handing out gifts to people and nothing gets done about it. Aask yourself .. What if it had been your spouce or child murdered, even what if the infamus Gift is the cause of your child spouce’s addiction. I know it is a choise but this bastard operates under everybodys noses and perhaps the police also gets a gift from him?
