Davidsonville’s oldest turns 96
Ouma Betty shares her birthday with Madiba.
Not only is she Davidsonville’s oldest, but she also shares her birthday with late president Nelson Mandela.
Betty Kay, or Ouma Betty as she is fondly known, turned 96 on 18 July. As is the tradition, members of the community, the local ANC branch and the Community Workers Project (CWP) with the kind donations of local businesses held a special birthday party for Ouma Betty.
Manuel Street was closed-off partially, music were played, children danced and every one got a piece of the beautiful birthday cake.
