The petrol price goes up again tonight (Wednesday 2 July).
Petrol will increase by 20c per litre while diesel goes up by 13c per litre.
Motorists should expect to pay R14,30 per litre for petrol and R12,90 per litre for diesel.
Motorists should also prepare for more price increases in the coming months. The rand is expected to weaken and the price of crude oil is poised to go up, partly due to the unrest in the oil producing nations of Iraq and Syria. Iraq recently lost control of its largest oil refinery to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants, who then set 17 storage tanks on fire. Syria is three years and three months into their civil war, and there are no signs of it ending in the near future.
