Mokgothu excited about transfer

Levy Mokgothu is happy about his new 3 year contract with Amakhosi.

Former Moroka Swallows defender Levy Mokgothu has revealed why he is looking forward to his time as a Kaizer Chiefs player following his transfer recently.

It is hard to believe that just two seasons ago the fullback was on the books of Manzini Sundowns in the obscure league of neighbouring Swaziland.

Last season at Swallows Mokgothu impressed even though the team struggled overall and finished in the bottom half of the league table.

With the left back position one of the toughest areas to find regular quality players coming through the system, Chiefs took note and snapped Mokgothu up on a three-year contract.

With Mokgothu having just joined, first choice Tsepo Masilela is expected to start for Amakhosi in the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup derby against the Buccaneers on July 26.

“The Soweto Derby is one of the games I’m actually looking forward to playing in and waiting for. I’ve played in the original Soweto derby between the Dube Birds and Pirates, and now there’s another derby to look forward to… the mother of all rivalries,” the 24-year-old told Soccer Laduma.
