FC Real dominates the Rand Central League

ALLEN'S NEK - FC Real players dominated the Rand Central League on 21 June, scoring goal after goal.

FC Real created waves in the Rand Central League as they kept the goals coming.

The Rand Central League was underway at Allan Glen High School – home to FC Real – where various U6, U8 and U10 teams collided on 21 June.

The enthusiasm was clearly visible and the young players were highly inspired to engage in the game of soccer.

Parents came in numbers to witness and cheer on their children.

Real’s U6 side looked eager to take on Pro Athletico in their league game, which resulted in a 2 – 2 draw.

For children their age, it was not too much of a hassle to motivate them to push through the game.

Real’s U8 side unleashed a fountain of goals as it demolished Jeppe 14 – 0 in their league game.

The home ground advantage was evident as Real dominated the first half of the game by five goals and looked even more dangerous when they put pressure on Jeppe by scoring eight more goals in the second half.

The final game was between FC Real’s and Northcliff ‘s U10 teams, which saw Real dominating by 7 – 3.

According to FC Real coach Bevan Bowers, it is very important to groom youngsters from a young age.

Bowers shared that the secret to his team’s success is motivation and discipline.

“Although the children lose concentration once in a while when they play football, we still ensure that they enjoy training and competing. We develop children according to their age group. We don’t train them the same way because there is a specific way of how children should develop,” he informed.

“We always ensure that there is more enjoyment and excitement and whatever they learn in training, they should always implement when they compete.”

Bowers also said he rather enjoys working with youngsters and watching them tackle the ball.
