A good sports week for King’s School

POORTVIEW - King's School shows off its skilled group of pupils.

King’s School West Rand participated in the final round of the Equestrian League Qualifier that took place on 7 June.

According to school principal Ken Langley, this year the competition was closed by a school parade and the school was represented by six of its talented riders.

“These riders have represented the school previously in four of the South African National Equestrian Schools Association’s qualifier events. These events took place under the Gauteng West Region Interschools section of the competition.”

He said the riders have to wait for them to pick the Gauteng Regional Team which should be announced before the end of July.

The U16 Kings School soccer team ended their season in a spectacular fashion when they won their league without losing a single match in the Independent Schools Soccer League.

Langley said, “They will be competing in the league play-offs next term, which will determine the Gauteng champions. The knock-out rounds will include all the pool league winners of the small, medium and large school divisions. We wish them good luck with the upcoming matches.

“Well done to all of these pupils and their parents for the continuous support during the year and for braving the cold weather to support their children.”
