Bidvest Wits eye Botes swoop
Platinum Stars striker targeted by Bidvest Wits for new season.
Bidvest Wits are reportedly interested in the services of Platinum Stars striker, Henrico Botes, as his contract with the Rustenburg club gets closer to it’s expiration date.
According to SoccerLaduma, both the Clever Bots and Polokwane City are monitoring the Nambian’s situation after he wasn’t included in Allan Freese’s plans for the following season.
Botes, who has spent three years with Dikwena, is expected to break his ties with Stars and leave on a free transfer as his contract hits its final date of legally bonding the player and team together at the end of June.
Wits head coach, Gavin Hunt, repeatedly stated throughout the 2013/14 season that he was on the lookout for a new striker for the next season and Botes is considered to be a candidate for the club.
Last year Botes became Stars’ all-time leading goalscorer as well as having made the most appearances for the club in their history.
He also played a crucial part in the Rustenburg outfit’s MTN8 and Telkom Knockout title victory last year.
