Mamelodi Sundowns striker Eleazar Rodgers says he is unsure of his future with the club following a loan spell with Ajax Cape Town.

The 29-year-old spent the 2013/14 season with the Urban Warriors, scoring five goals in 23 league appearances but it is unclear if that was enough to earn him a spot in a side which won the 2013/14 Absa Premiership title.

“The decision is for Downs to take,” Rodgers told the Citizen. “I will do what the team says I must do.

“I haven’t heard anything at the moment, it is just rumours I read in the newspapers.

“But if things stay like this before Downs return to pre-season and will hear what the club says.”

The former Santos says he is open to making a permanent move to Cape Town should the two sides agree to a deal as he is prepared to sacrifice a lucrative deal for more game time.

“I wouldn’t say it (money) doesn’t matter, but it is not a priority at this stage,” he said.

“I need to grow my career and playing frequently would definitely do that. So for now I will have to wait on Sundowns.”
