Thursday 12 June
Sporadies Nomadies, a Fokofpolisiekar tune sums up the lives of Francois van Coke, Hunter Kennedy and Pierre Greeff. See them for an intimate showcase of acoustic covers at Rumours Lounge in Weltevreden Park. These covers will include songs by Die Heuwels Fantasties, Lukraaketaar and Fokofpolisiekar. Armin van Buuren has embarked on his Intense World Tour and will be playing live in Johannesburg at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northriding. Van Buuren has been crowned the number-one DJ in the world five times in Amsterdam. Tickets cost between R650 and R2 500 per person and can be booked at Computicket.
Sunday 15 June
Old Mutual Music in the Gardens presents AKA, Reason and Tumi in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden, Poortview. Gates will open at 11am and the artists will perform between 1pm and 4pm. Have your Youth Day celebration at Vacca Matta at Montecasino, Fourways. Party with DJ Warras, Twins on Decks, Marco the DJ, Problem Kidz, Keenan O, Jerome, Voodoo and Problem Roots. The party starts at 9pm. Ladies get in for free before 10pm. Entrance costs R80 per person before 11pm and R100 thereafter. The My Band Project at the Roodepoort Theatre is nearing its end. Don’t miss another night of an eclectic mix of genres from bands on the rise.
