Landhuis Street a danger to motorists

ROODEPOORT - Potholes issues still remain

Landhuis Street in Allen’s Nek has been filled with potholes for the last two months. Staff member at Allen Glen High School, Rosina Danielides explained that motorists are unable to use the road because there is pothole on every square inch of the surface.

“It’s extremely dangerous as parents who want to come and drop off their children have to dodge potholes and avoid accidents.” Danielides explained that she reported the issues to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) two months ago and nothing has been done about the situation yet.

“Residents have now taken it upon themselves and they are filling up these holes with sand but it flows away after the first rain.”

Ward 126 councillor Mike Tonkin expressed his frustrations with JRA and added that he also submitted a complaint to the entity but, he has not heard anything back.
