Baby Moses celebrates 11 years of care
The Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary has enriched them, the De Klerks say.
After 11 years of caring The Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary is still going strong, founders Christo and Lanie de Klerk say.
In a recent newsletter the couple shared a message about the journey to where the Sanctuary with its two homes in Helderkruin is now.
“We opened the doors of the first and newly built baby home on 1 April 2003 with anticipation and a bit of fear – we didn’t know what we were letting ourselves in for.
“Now, a little over 11 years later, we proudly can say that it has been the most rewarding time and experience of our lives.”
Although there have been bad days and bad luck, “they are vastly outnumbered by the good that came from [the Sanctuary]”.
Lanie said that they have been supported greatly by many good people and businesses, “giving selflessly when we were in need”.
“Thank you so much to every supporter, donor and sponsor believing in the work of Baby Moses.”
The Baby Moses homes are always in need of groceries, clothes (both school clothes and play clothes) and medication. Residents can help them with gift vouchers to major clothing outlets and pharmacies as well as with second-hand clothes that are still in a good condition. Another way in which the community can assist them is with funds towards the operational expenditure of the Sanctuary.
