That same evening, FroK will be hosting a nocturnal spider and scorpion walk and talk. Jonathan Leeming, a spider and scorpion expert, and also author of the book Scorpions of Southern Africa, will first give a presentation. This is only for those who are older than 15 years, and entrance is R60 per person.
lA long guided fun walk through the reserve will be taking place on Saturday, 5 April. All the different fauna and flora found at Kloofendal will be discussed along the way. The reserve’s vast natural and historical past will also be explored in finer detail. Entrance for adults are R40, while children only pay R30.
lA very special event will be held in the early morning of 6 April. Come and help set up the nets with bird and butterfly expert Grant Egen. Here, birds are caught and carefully taken out of the nets and then ringed. Indeed a privilege to see birds from so close and have an expert tell you how to identify them and other interesting facts.
Nature lovers and adventure seekers sure are in for a mighty fun time, just be reminded to bring some refreshments, and wear a hat and some sun screen.
