Sooffah Comedy Couch a super hit

ROODEPOORT - Comedy night at Roodepoort Theatre’s swanky new restaurant a grand success.

Sooffah Comedy Couch came to Roodepoort again on 21 March.

Held at the swanky new theatre restaurant, Stages, comedians had everyone in stitches with their own unique brands of local humour.

Host Nadiem Solomon – local business man extraordinaire by day and comedian by night – opened the show before welcoming Mo Mothebe on stage first, and then ventriloquist Chik Aljay and his puppet Alston.

The show continued with Graham Shirley and Marcharl Jankowitz. Solomon leaped to the stage again thereafter, accidentally dislodging the stage, making it a tad bit lopsided. He stood up though, straightened his hat and calmly said to the audience: “Sorry guys, it’s just a stage I’m going through,” at which point the audience roared with laughter.

The hilarious Alyn Adams was last on stage and he discussed substance abuse and political abuse of power with such wry humour that these issues seemed almost acceptable. Adams won the South African Comedic Choice award for comedy writing in 2012.
