Sunette Bridges, Boere Krisis Aksie and many other exclusive organisations for “white South Africans” have changed the meaning of the word “Boer” forever. They have destroyed the name I once proudly owned.

I’m a white South African who gets exposed to the negative in our society daily. My constant nausea that once was caused mainly by a rotten, mostly illiterate government forcing lies down my throat now is caused also by the tribe I used to call my own.

As I am well aware, there are many gullible, paranoid boys and girls in our country, so usually I steer clear from randomly discussing politics and religion. But it seems that some who call themselves Boers have become so comfortable with their clumsy loose tongues, that I believe my point of view is warranted.

Often behind a mask of Christianity, these self-proclaimed brave warriors arm themselves with their facebook accounts and go to war, violently transferring thoughts from their fingertips to their PC screens and finally to the PC screens of many other gullible and paranoid white folk. They claim to be initiating “God’s plan”, but along the way, they do their utmost to destroy every moral and social structure that contradict their own.

With no consideration for fellow man, they express their unfounded opinions as fact for all to hear and see. The thing that peeves me most is that they claim to represent the white race of South Africa; the so-called “Boers” – hence my response.

I do not agree with anything that originates from Bridges’ or any other ‘Boere’ organisations’ keyboards, and I want no part of it.

Those champions of Boer rights have degraded my race, creating a general perception that all of us are uneducated, gullible and paranoid. You blame every black person for crimes committed daily, while remaining oblivious to crimes committed by our “own” kind. You point fingers at all the wrongs of society while you are guilty of acts of hatred. You are the definition of discrimination. You discriminate against the gay, the coloured, the black, the whites not following your mess of a plan; all this while your holy book that you claim drove you to this way of life instructs you to love and respect your fellow man.

I neither will discriminate against people of different skin tone, those with different sexual preferences, social groups of different religions or ideals, nor anybody else who thinks and acts in ways I am not familiar with – just as I won’t discriminate against you lot. I respect people’s choices, as long as they don’t expect me to follow suit.

Understand this; I don’t hate you, I hate the fact that you are trying to drag me into your war. In the words of George McGovern, “I’m fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in”.

My message to you is to stop kicking up dust around me. You are welcome to remove yourself from society and find your own exclusive homeland where you can practice your own ideology among the people you do not feel threatened by. Just leave me out of it. If not, I hereby resign from the Boer tribe.

Before any of you respond with “clearly, you never have been a victim of crime”, stop right there. I have, more than any of you would know, but I had fallen victim to criminals, not a racial group.

And yes, I too can’t stand irresponsible taxi drivers, but they are a tribe – not a racial group – just like you.

Finally, I empathise with the families of every white person who was murdered since ‘94 and prior to that; by the same token I empathise with the families of all who had died at the hands of murderers.

If I embrace your ideology, I might get murdered too; at least I can say that I have lived life to the full without inciting hatred and organising wars.

Peace be with you.

Dus vertrou ek net 3mense in my lewe!

  2. I am also a white Afrikaans citizen, I hate crime and especially the way murders are committed on a daily basis againts white farmers, with a government turning blind eye as they are too busy with corruption and contraversial appointments. Like Sunette Bridges, more of us seek help and the media is the only channel to make us heard. Some people are more forward in their expression, but all wrong or right in this matter have a desperate need for someone higher to take a stand against these killings, threats and crimes, if not will there still in years to come be something called “Boer”, farmer, supplier of food for the whole nation? Just wondering…

Groete Bertus Schwan

  4. Ek was jare terug aangehou met n rewolwer teen my kop tydens n rooftog. Ek was vir maande siek!
Ek + my suster moes haar in die oggend ure hospitaal toe vat want daar was nie n ambulans beskikbaar nie. Fantasties!!!

  5. Give this man a Bells.

  6. As jy lank genoeg gatkruip, sal jy uiteindelik hul k*k proe, ou seun! #bekotsenswaardig

  7. One often sees this type of comment from journalists. Ignorance disguised as opinion in well worded diatribes against members of their own ethnic group. Think of an Adriaan Basson, Pauli van Wyk, Max du Preez or Yolanda Barnard. It is not confined to South Africa but is a world wide phenomenon. No wonder that anti-journalist movements have sprung up in all the countries around the world. Our own is Boikot Naspers but it goes way beyond just Naspers. The popular terms are either anti-white whites or Cultural Marxists. Doesn’t matter which you prefer. At the root of the poor name journalism has earned in the last decade or so can be lain directly at the door of the indoctrination students receive in school culminating at ideological brainwashing at University. Journalism especially is fraught with professors and lecturers who absolutely believe in the Leftist ideology. Since Mr van der Walt looks about 22 from his picture – although probably older – he would have gone through this brainwashing process quite recently. Life experience and wisdom still eludes him. He is trying to suck up to the likes of Max du Preez and Adriaan Basson. They are his heros, they are in his eyes fashionable. Nothing like a useful idiot to worship the at the feet of a faux idol. You don’t want to be called a Boer? Fine. We will not call you Boer…or Afrikaner. You are the livestock to breed the Afrikaanse. The Afrikaanse is an amorphous coffee coloured group who has no heritage, no history, barely surviving the present by closing their eyes, by stopping their ears and living in Lala Land where unicorns live off of rainbow coloured streams and pink fluf but most importantly, no future. Afrikaanses are the favourite creation of Naspers, Jakes Gerwel, Russel Botman, Djonitin Djansen and other Afrikaner haters. It is a neologism, a tribe living in liberal Utopia. People without a past or present has no identity, they identify with nothing except a fashionable fad and can therefor not survive without flip-flopping like a fish on dry land between the fashion of the day. 8.
