A man was killed late last night when he was struck by a car on the corners of Ontdekkers Road and Kloof Road in Witpoortjie.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene, the road well-known for pedestrian vehicle collisions. They found the man in his mid-30’s lying on the road in a critical condition. Rapid medical intervention was performed on the patient, who sustained serious head, chest and leg injuries.
Once placed on a spine board, the patient was promptly transported to Leratong Hospital for urgent treatment. At the hospital, resuscitation of the patient ensued, as he presented no signs of life. After a lengthy resuscitation, he was declared dead.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
