What to do if you can not vote on 7 May
Councillor Gert Niemand gives some advise to voters who can not vote on the day.
If a resident can not vote on 7 May, there is an alternative.
According to DA Campaign Manager and Councillor for Ward 71 Gert Niemand, residents who are sick and working or studying elsewhere can apply for a special vote. This can be done at any Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) office or the resident can approach the councillor or old age home secretary to obtain and hand in the VEC1 form.It is advised that they contact the IEC office in Roodepoort on 011 761 0258.
According to Niemand it is very important to note that this can only take place from 7 to 17 April. The voter can vote on 5 and 6 May.
Councillor Niemand has also asked for volunteers for 5, 6, and 7 May. They can contact Rene Benjamin on 072 957 2265.
