Nyaope shown the door: Roodepoort awareness campaign
Westview Clinic completes another successful drug awareness campaign at malls and schools.
Anthea Barriel, public relations manager at Westview Clinic, is proud of another successful drug awareness campaign that occurred from 24 to 28 February.
This time the Clinic aimed its efforts at the awareness of the effects and consequences of using nyaope. It stressed the drug’s dangers at the Dobsonville Shopping Centre, targeting the youth.
“Westview Clinic undertook this awareness campaign to highlight the impact of nyaope to show its devastating effects on younger residents,” explained Barriel.
During their campaign the Clinic also visited five Dobsonville schools to spread the word. Their school visits were accompanied by performances by a local drama group.
“The response was overwhelming and we feel we have achieved our goals.
“We hope to have similar campaigns in other areas and communities,” Barriel concluded.
