Residents of Naboom Street in Wilro Park have grown tired of the eyesore that is the yard at 9 Naboom Street.
In comparison to other neatly painted houses with sturdy walls and well-kept gardens and lawns, the property in question is causing a stir with its unruly front yard.
On Monday 24 February the Record went to look what the fuss was about and found that the so-called hoarder of Naboom Street had filled his yard with all sorts of riffraff.
Unfortunately, the owner of the house has not been available for comment.
Erica Cooney told the Record of her daughter and son-in-law’s three-year struggle to get their next-door neighbour to clean up his yard.
It is believed that the owner of the property is a DStv installer in and around Roodepoort.
“It looks like a scrap yard,” complains Cooney on behalf of her daughter.
Building material, steel and a cement mixer are some of his garden ornaments. Cooney’s daughter and son-in-law, the Bothes’, are disgusted at what he’s done to the property, or rather not done to it, in the past three years.
“We need to speak to someone to find out what could be done about this mess of a situation.”
