Biker taken out on Hendrik Potgieter

Unconfirmed reports say he died on scene.

A motorcyclist riding a Honda CBR1000 was left in a critical condition after being knocked over on Hendrik Potgieter Road in peak hour morning traffic on 19 February.

ER24 stated that the motorcyclist, believed to be from Ruimsig, was knocked down by a bakkie. He was treated on site for severe injuries to his abdomen, pelvis, chest and collar bones before being rushed to Flora Glen Hospital. The hospital was unable to release any information on the matter.

Although initially believed the motorcyclist was hit by a bakkie, new information suggests it was a white VW Polo which caused the accident when it changed lanes without indicating.

Updates to follow.
