Who says money doesn’t come easy?
This was the case for Sibusiswe Ngcobo, a nine-year-old pupil from Unified Public School in Florida, who won Shoprite’s Class of the Year competition.
According to the Shoprite Gauteng Division spokesperson, Sabrinam Naidoo, “This was a competition where pupils from across the country were invited to dream big and enter at their local Shoprite by writing a short essay, or drawing a picture, about what they would like to become one day when they have finished school.”
Sibusiswe’s dream is to become a teacher.
“Her enthusiastic account of the dream impressed the judges and landed her the prize of her school fees being paid for a full year.
“The competition is one of Shoprite’s many community initiatives that sponsor the school fees of hundreds of pupils in South Africa each year.
“Shoprite believes that the youth of our country should be given opportunities in education that will unlock their inherent potential and inspire them to greater heights.
“Shoprite believes in giving back to the communities they serve and therefore encourages communities to motivate pupils in their area to enter this competition.”
