Child Welfare’s jumble sale a bargain hunter’s dream
Sale a sucess, says Community Development Manager.
The Roodepoort branch of the Child Welfare Society South Africa held a jumble sale to raise funds on 8 February.
Although the venue is slightly secluded in Du Toit Street and the sale was on only from 8am to 11am, Community Development Manager Voncent Legari declared it a success when the Record visited them at 9.30am.
All the goods on sale were donated by the community and all the funds raised would go back into the community, explained Vincent.
The clothing got the most attention from the public, but for those willing to search there were also some worthwhile books to be found. As with all jumble sales though there were something for everyone among the odds and ends and of course at a good price.
Vincent explained that the money will be applied for the needs of Roodepoort’s needy children.
Anyone who would like to contribute in any way can contact Vincent on 011 271 8700.
