Service delivery issues in Zandspruit

Residents in Zandspruit are furious as infrastructure issues are ignored by Johannesburg Water.

Sabata Makabethi lives close to a leak that has been left unattended for the past four months in Ace Street close to Mavhathani supermarket.

“We have logged complaints and have received reference numbers but nothing has been done about the situation.”

He added that hundreds of litres of fresh water were wasted on a daily basis but it seemed that not even this concerned the entity.

Johannesburg Water spokesperson Millicent Kabwe said she alerted the depot closest to Zandspruit about the leak. “A team will repair the leak as soon as they have space in their schedule.”
