Third day of Princess protests

No end in sight for housing protests.

The Princess informal settlement’s housing protest has reached its third day.

Once again Albertina Sisulu Road was rendered useless for traffic as tyres and logs burned across the road. The protesters were aggressive and the Record was warned not to get too close since they were pelting vehicles, police and members of the public with rocks.

Both lanes were closed by the police, which caused much consternation for motorists.

Motorists are warned to avoid this stretch of road.

  1. Ithink it is disgusting and cruel what the community of the Princess informal settlements are doing. Looting and burning peoples homes when they have done nothing to you is revolting.
WHAT ARE THE POLICE DOING ABOUT THIS ? It seems they are just watching as its mostly the neighbourhood watch taking action and protecting residence. God help us !
