Johannesburg City Parks has come under fire owing to neglected pavements on Krugerrand Road, Wilgeheuwel.
Residents in Wilgeheuwel have sent numerous complaints to the entity, but the pavements on Kruggerrand Road remain untended.
Resident Tienie Venter recounted how his wife tripped while walking because she could not see where she was placing her feet, owing to overgrown shrubbery. He alleges City Parks has not attended to the pavements in the last two months.
The entity’s spokesperson Jenny Moodley stated the rainy season always impacts on schedules, no matter how much pre-planning takes place. Moodley said, “I want to apologise on behalf of the entity and want to assure residents that City Parks will send out a maintenance team to cut the grass.”
