Lifeline on the lookout for donations

Organisation strives to help out people in need.

Lifeline is a non-profit organization that strives to help out people with relationship difficulties, financial problems, alcohol or drug addiction, gambling issues and various other problems.

It’s counsellors are available 24-hours a day and they offer rape counselling, trauma debriefing and face to face counselling. Lifeline Director Isabella Holden mentioned that the organisation also runs a successful programme that is called Girls and Boys on the Move and it addresses sexual reproductive health in schools in Soweto and Alexandra.

She said, “We try to have an impact on the lives of learners at a critical phase in their development by encouraging girls and boys to make better choices. Our programme offers a information session that includes information about HIV and awareness on sexuality and gender. This project is vital in these times as we read and see all the issues around sex and rape in the media.”

She added that the organisation always appreciates any help through funding and food donations. “This allows us to sustain and expand our services as the need grows daily.”
