Who is the Honeyhills block watch?

Doing their part, defending their neighbourhood.

The Honeyhills blockwatch are doing their part to fight crime in their neighbourhood.

Blockwatches instil a sense if security and wellbeing because they reduce the fear of crime. They can be considered the eyes and ears of law enforcement. They also promote neighbourliness.

Most importantly, criminals tend to be more wary of targeting areas that have blockwatches.

Formed in 2010 by residents concerned about the increasing crime levels in their area, the block watch is in its fourth year and still going strong. The first patrol was on 2 May 2010 and their first general meeting was held on 18 May 2010.

They patrol the Honeyhills and Kloofendal area. A more detailed zone map can be found on their website. They are supported by the SAPS and neighbouring blockwatches.

They meet at the Kloofendal NG Church from 7 to 8pm. Membership fees are R50 monthly or R500 annually, with an additional joining fee of R100. Membership forms can be found on their website.

Although they are helpful in fighting crime, please call the police on 10111 if there is a crime in progress. The Roodepoort Police Station can be contacted if there has been a crime committed on 011 279 6400.
