Senior Citizens by Dave Young

A poem about senior citizens

Please remember don’t forget

the elderly and the decrepit.

See them safe across the road

if need be to their abode.

For those who cannot see

lead them gently as can be.

The deaf and dumb can’t open their gob

so you must have the patience of Job.

Think of those who struggled for you

now struggle themselves like Mandela and Tutu.

The invalid in a wheelchair

can run you over

so just beware.

So please don’t make a hallabaloo

Because that person might just be you
