Alleged racially motivated assault case postponed

An alleged racially motivated assault case that pertains to an incident at a supermarket in Witpoortjie on 18 May has been postponed today, 12 December until 12 February 2014.

The defence’s initial ‘council’ allegedly was turned down by the prosecutor on grounds of not being suitably qualified.

The defence did obtain council at the last moment before court proceedings started and the prosecutor was asked that the defence be supplied with the docket of the case and the CCTV footage from the supermarket.

The case will resume in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court.
