Local boy wins junior triathlon
Rodney Robinson takes under 16 challenge.
To make the new four-event X-DIRT Triathlon Challenge that kicked-off at Buffelspoort Dam in the North West province on 1 December a family affair, organisers included a race for under 16s.
The race, which consists of 150m of swimming, 7km of off-road cycling and 2,5km of running is sure to become a favourite among this age category.
Local extreme athlete Rodney Robinson (14) from Roodepoort, went ahead to win the inaugural race.
Parents who would like to enter their children, or themselves into the senior event of the next X-DIRT Triathlon Challenge at Roodeplaat Dam on 15 December can do so online at www.xdirt.co.za or on race morning at the venue from 6am.
