Randpark Ridge resident and Florida Lake Canoe Club member, Jaydon Hunt, was the winner of the under-12 School Canoe League Log, run by the Gauteng Canoe Union.
The Gauteng School League hosted the final race of 2013 at Florida Lake in Roodepoort on 16 November, under somewhat choppy water conditions.
With over 100 participating paddlers throughout the year, the Gauteng School League has grown exponentially and races have been hosted on a monthly basis at various lakes and dams throughout the region.
Points are allocated for each finisher on a sliding scale in each age group for both male and female paddlers, which accumulate over the year and are credited to the school represented.
