Ahmed Kathrada Foundation 2014
Applications for the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation’s 2014 Youth Leadership Programme has opened.
If you are between 15-25 years, live in Gauteng and want to enhance your leadership skills, you should consider applying to the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation’s Youth Leadership Programme.
The Youth Leadership Programme is about developing future leaders who can contribute to making South Africa a better place through youth activism and projects. Through this programme, young people will learn skills that will equip them for leadership roles i.e. speaking, writing, debating and campaigning amongst others.
“We are looking for youth who want to be change agents in their community, who want to have a solid understanding of their history, and who have the vision of a non-racial South Africa,” the foundation’s youth coordinator, Busisiwe Nkosi said.
“The programme will be limited to a 100 participants only. We introduced the programme last year and it was highly successful. Our group visited a number of sites including Robben Island, the Gauteng Legislature and Liliesleaf Farm. We engaged in thought provoking current debates, and met a number of struggle icons.”
The foundation hopes to reach out to a wider, more diverse youth base for its 2014 programme. Applications close on 2 December 2013.
