Not much to do as fire breaks out in Spur
Renovations blamed for restaurant fire.
CONSTANTIA PARK – On Friday 15 November at about 3pm a fire broke out at Natchez Spur, situated on the corner of 14th Avenue and Hendrik Potgieter Road in Constantia Park. Customers were ordered to leave the restaurant. No official comment was received from the restaurant’s management.
One manager, who didn’t want to give his name, said the fire broke out as a result of renovations. “It’s nothing serious. [Contractors] were busy with the roof and it looks like they did something to the smoke vent and that caused the fire to break out, but everything is under control.”
The contractors quickly attended to the flames. No injuries were reported and the only damage visible was burnt-out signage.
