Save A Child hosts family reunion
Breakfast and gifts as families with cerebral palsied children come together
WEST RAND – The Save a Child non-profit organisation, which supports families of cerebral palsied children, held their annual “Family Reunion” on 9 November at Misty Hills Country Hotel in Muldersdrift.
Families from as far as Swartruggens and Kroonstad gathered together to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast with friends old and new. Sylvia and Angelique Van Zyl entertained guests with a moving salute to the mothers accompanying their special children. Johan Fourie serenaded the audience with his acoustic guitar; the children swaying and laughing to the music.
“That’s why I put all the effort I can into arranging these reunions,” said Save a Child chairman George Horn. “To see the children smile, that’s enough for me.”
Santa made a surprise appearance when he arrived to hand over gifts to the enthusiastic children under the Christmas tree.
The Save a Child Pageant was held in the afternoon where Belinde Schreuder won the title for Miss Save a Child 2013, and Marinda Engelbrecht won the Mrs. Save a Child 2013 title.
