The spate of drug-related arrest indicates that Roodpoort wants to put an end to the rife drug abuse in the area.
Constable Vincent Mashiteng told the Record that four men were arrested in separate incidents for the possession of dagga.
A 16-year-old was arrested with 1,1g of dagga in Plot 61 in Princess on 3 November. On the same day a man (26) was arrested for possession of the same drug after police stopped and searched a taxi. The dagga was found hidden in newspapers.
Another man (30) was arrested on 4 Novemeber in Progress Road after police caught him with eight bags of dagga weighing 21,8g.
Also one of three men was arrested on 1 November after police stopped and searched a suspicious-looking vehicle on Mimosa Street. They found 2,5g dagga on him.
All four men will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court in the course of the week.
