Message in a bottle, tied to a balloon

FAIRLANDS - Engineering company shows support for those who have lost the fight against breast cancer and all those who are still fighting it.

On Friday 25 October, Fairlands-based engineering company Richard Peace & Partners (RRP) released 100 helium-filled pink balloons in support of breast cancer.

Each balloon contained a message of encouragement and the company hoped that when the balloons descended the messages would fall into the hands to those who need them.

Managing director of the company Pieter de Bod said they did this because everyone is affected by breast cancer, directly or indirectly. One of their employees recently lost their mother due to breast cancer and that made them to want to do more for the cause.

“We hope to raise awareness and make people more conscious about the fight against breast cancer.” The company has also donated R1500 to towards cancer awareness and research and de Bod said this was to demonstrate their commitment to the fight.
