Orphans given a reason to smile
Bonisa PR Agency donates R5000 to House of Mercy Community Home.
WILGEHEUWEL – Christmas came early for children in Kagiso settlement on 22 October, when Bonisa Public Relations Agency from Wilgeheuwel dropped off R5000 worth of sports equipment for the children living at the House of Mercy Community Home and Day Care Centre in Kagiso.
The House of Mercy was opened in 2004 for children who have lost parents due to Aids. If not for this humanitarian organisation, these children would receive less than one meal a day, often going to school and to sleep with empty stomachs. The home not only cares for many orphans, but the day care centre also helps feed children in the community whose parents and guardians struggle to do so.
“We are extremely grateful for the gold heart approach of those who support us and in particular, to the owners of Bonisa Solutions PR agency,” said House of Mercy founder Maria Mphakathi. “They arrived at our home with a vehicle full of sports goods which I am sure will be appreciated by the children during their hours of play on the sports fields.”
“Our staff have worked in the sports industry at community and international levels for many years and understand the impact that sport can make as far as the building of friendships and developing of life skills is concerned,” said Bonisa CEO Paul Martin. “The Zulu word for show is ‘Bonisa’ and we hope that we have shown our commitment towards putting a smile on the faces of hundreds of youngsters.”
