Grade 5 pupil of Discovery Primary, Saeed van Greuning has qualified for the finals of the Spelling Bee competition, which will take place on Saturday 2 November.
His qualification is considered a remarkable achievement considering 10 000 pupils from various schools in Gauteng participated during the round robin phase.
The word ‘confetti’, which Saeed is holding up, was the last word he got right that earned him that qualifying spot. It is also according to Seead his favourite word.
